Ages 3 – 6 years
The Montessori Primary program is a three-year cycle designed to move children from concrete exploration to abstract understanding. Mixed-age classrooms foster mentorship, collaboration, and leadership in the third year.
Curriculum Areas
- Practical Life: concentration, coordination, order, and independence
- Sensorial: refinement of the senses and classification
- Language: phonetic awareness, moveable alphabet, reading and writing
- Math: quantity to symbol with golden beads; operations and place value
- Culture: geography, science, art, and music
Materials are presented to highlight their purpose and built-in control of error.
